Fall 2010 Dartmouth Night

Class of '68

On a cold and dreary Friday evening, October 29, hundreds of Dartmouth Alumni assembled at the intersection of Crosby and Lebanon Streets in front of the entrance to Memorial Field.  Steve Elliott came down from South Ryegate, VT, and volunteered to carry the Class of 1968 standard in the Alumni Procession up Lebanon Street, then up Main Street, and around the Green to the front of Dartmouth Hall.  John Engelman, who had abandoned us for the warmth of his car, was squiring an eminent alumnus and spouse in his GEAR68 Chrysler convertible, top up this cold, raw night, up to Dartmouth Hall.  So Steve Elliott and Bear processed up the route between larger contingents of the Classes of 1967 and 1969.  There were no other class activities scheduled for the Homecoming weekend, plus we had to endure the Harvard football game, really Dartmouth's only bad outing of the season, which would end with a winning record of 6-4.
