The Class of 1968 recently completed a magnificent 2018 Dartmouth College Fund campaign. We want to thank all of you for your support, and share some of the final results with you. Our dollar goal for our 50th Reunion campaign was $2.52 million (the fifth highest 50th reunion gift ever) with a participation rate of 57%. We far exceeded our ambitious dollar goal by raising $2.892 million. Our overall participation was also exemplary, falling just 3 donors short of our goal of 382 but nevertheless the highest participation for a 50th reunion in the past 5 years. 131 classmates made “multiplier gifts” (those 3x or more their ordinary year gifts) with an average of over 10x!
The Class of 1968 is fortunate to have 87 distinguished members of the Ripley Society. The Harold C. Ripley ’29 Society was formed in 2009 to recognize alumni who have made a gift to the Dartmouth College Fund every year since graduation, and our Ripley Society members continue to set a standard of perfection and excellence in giving during each year’s campaign. The names of our Ripley Society member classmates are listed on the Ripley Society page.
In addition to our Ripley Society classmates, who now have given to the Dartmouth College Fund for 50 consecutive years, we have a total of 189 classmates (28% of our base) who have given for at least 40 years, and 363 classmates (54% of our base) who have given to the DCF for at least 25 years, in other words at least half the years since our graduation.
For the fourth straight year, we far exceeded our dollar goal. Adding our goal of $400,000 for each of the 2015, 2016 and 2017 campaigns and a three-year total of $1.624 million raised in those campaigns, to our $2.892 dollar total this campaign year, our cumulative four-year total is $4.516 million, $796,000 (21%) above our combined goals.
The Class of 1968 continues to demonstrate that it is one of the great classes in Dartmouth College history!
Sincerely,
Joe Nathan Wright
