The show has reopened. We are happy to incorporate submissions from any classmate or guest who wants to participate. We had two professional artists and a whole lot of amateurs, so don't hesitate to submit your work. For more information contact Jim Lawrie. If you participated in the original show, you are encouraged to submit additional material up to a total of 25 photos.

Submission Information

• Photo file size greater than 1 MB (the bigger the better)
• Pixel density (resolution) at least 72 ppi (pixels per inch); Jim will verify the pixel density and that your photo displays properly on a UHD TV.
• Up to 25 of your favorite photos
• Photo naming convention: ArtistName_PhotoNumber_PhotoTitle.jpg, where “PhotoNumber” is of the form xxx (e.g., 001). The photo number will determine the order in which the photo is displayed within your group of photos. Be sure to put PhotoNumber immediately after ArtistName and that ArtistName is the same for every photo.
• Jim will set up a DropBox folder for each artist and will send a link to the folder by email. Using the DropBox folder seems to be easiest if you have a DropBox account. Since the DropBox basic account is free, it shouldn’t be too much of a burden for our artists
• In addition to your photos, we are requesting a one-page submission from each classmate outlining biography, information about books and exhibits, past and future, and artistic philosophy. The printed information will be posted on the Website in the artist personal statements section of the Virtual Gallery. In addition, please provide a recent photo of yourself and suggested music to accompany your photos.
• There is No Deadline for submission. Your work will be added to the Virtual Gallery as soon as all materials (photos, personal statement and recent personal photo) have been submitted.
• Photos in the slide show will be arranged by artist and within artist by photo number. Photos will be displayed for approximately 5 seconds. I will be converting the entire slide show to a new format that will facilitate incorporation of new material.
• The slide show will be accompanied by a sound track. Fair use rules do not allow us to music on YouTube unless it is in the public domain (excludes just about anything you'd want to listen to).

In its reunion incarnation, the Virtual Art Gallery was displayed using a laser phosphor projector in the common room of our dormitory home, Occom Commons.  The images were grouped by classmate, so that all of the submitted images were displayed together, one after the other, rather than randomly mixed with those of the other contributors.  This allowed artistic vision and philosophy to become apparent across the images.  The Gallery ran continuously, with each image displayed for approximately 5 seconds. Our target for the entire gallery was approximately a 15 minute cycle.  In addition, we had a notebook containing a one page submission from each classmate outlining biography, information about books and exhibits, past and future, and artistic philosophy.  We posted the Gallery on the Class Website before the Reunion, to help generate interest and excitement before we gathered, and have continued to host the Gallery on the Website after the Reunion.
